Hey everyone!

For the past few days I’ve been at training camp with all of the groups that are about to go out all across the world. We do a three day training together before we go out. Tomorrow is our last day with all the other teams before we leave for Colombia. It’s been so uplifting to be around so many other college age kids that are on fire for Jesus and ready to go be missionaries- many people for the first time.

I can already start to see some of the challenges that might come up during my time away. One of them is that our team consists of 15 girls and 2 boys (me being one of them). Even at the training camp right now, there are 10 boys and about 60 girls. The ten guys that are here at training camp are having a ton of fun, but we’re all about to be split up and go to different countries all over the globe. The problem is not that I cant talk to girls- I’m actually pretty good at that ;). The problem is just that it’s a completely different dynamic than I’ve been used to for my whole life. Every group I’ve been in has either been all boys or split evenly with boys and girls. I guess I can’t say that it’s a problem either, it’s just very different than what I’m used to.

I also can’t say that I’m surprised the Lord has made the group to be like this. Over the last year, He has consistently been pushing me to leave my comfort zone again and again. As a result, I’ve been stepping into new life with Him and have learned more than I ever could have just living at home. Maybe if I had a big group of guys to surround myself with, I would be too comfortable. Regardless, He has put this trip in all of our lives to do amazing things in our hearts and to further His kingdom. So many people on my team and on other teams have already been touched by God in deep ways that are clear to see. He is so ready to use you right where you’re at. There was even someone here that was delivered from a demonic power. (If that sounds scary to you, it should. Demons are real and even they believe in God. James 2:19) God was ready to use him right where he was and called him to be here. If he didn’t come because he wasn’t “qualified” enough, then who knows how long it could have been until he saw Jesus work in his life!! Please- follow the Lords calling on your life whether you feel ready or not. He wants to use you right where you’re at.

I hope everyone is doing well and gives me grace for the typos in here (because I definitely didn’t proof-read this). I’ve got one-ish days left in the US, and I’m not sure how WiFi will be in Colombia. Feel free to reach out with any questions and comments. I personally would love to hear from every one of you! Be blessed!

  1. Soooo very excited to see what God does with you and your team. He does use you right where you are, if you make yourself available. We are praying for the whole team. Will miss you, but very proud of your courage and growth. Time to watch the baby bird fly. Soar little eagle!
