Hey everyone!
This blog breaks my heart to write.
Two days ago, I returned to St. Louis. Our organization decided to pull us off the field as a result of the Corona virus.
My team and I, who expected to be gone until August 1st, are all home and safe now. Most of us returned without plans or knowledge of the next step.
This. Is. Amazing.
Yes, it was super difficult to come home and leave the team that has become like family. Yes, it’s really hard to see what Gods plan for this was. Yes, we’re all upset that we couldn’t spend the next planned 4 months together.
But God!!
God has this planned. God is still moving. God is making revival. God is sending home thousands of missionaries all around the world to one country- the US.
While this is a hard transition for all of us to make, we are so excited for the next step. “What does this look like for you?” You might be asking me. Glad you asked!!
I’m not sure how long I’ll be living at home. I am under a self-quarantine of sorts even though no one on the team is positive for the virus (praise Jesus). As of April 1st, some friends and I are starting a new ministry here in St. Louis! Not exactly sure on all the details, but we know the main idea- bringing revival to home and finding power in the ordinary. Jesus is moving. At the launch of this new ministry, we will be doing all sorts of outreach around the St. Louis area. We aren’t sure how long this will last or how big it will grow- we aren’t concerned with that either. We are taking the steps that the Lord has called us to, and we can step out in confidence at what He wants us to do.
So now it’s my turn to ask- what are you doing? How are you spending your time? I think it’s no coincidence that people are being forced to spend time together with their families and kids. You have this great opportunity to rest and spend time with the Lord. Take hold of this opportunity! Don’t let it slip away!!! The Lord is moving in huge ways that I couldn’t have imagined even a month ago! Now is the time to take hold of this opportunity for revival and spreading His kingdom. Let’s move forward with a sense of urgency in spreading His name. The time is now.
Thanks for all your prayers and support over the last two months while in Colombia. I’m still on the field though. We’re all on the field. And the harvest is bountiful. Take hold of this opportunity.
Wow! Matthew, I am constantly amazed by the work you are doing. I’m so proud of you and your friends for moving forward with your ministry. Revival is starting to take hold, and I’m so thankful for this movement. It’s so obvious to those of us who are tuned in, but soon there will be no denial that the Holy Spirit is truly working among us. I can’t wait to see what you do next! These are very exciting times, and I know you are going to be a big part of it all ??
